Made a Fool
Christopher Doutt

Well, the first time that you phoned me, I was so surprised you noticed that that sparkle in my eye was all for you
And on that fateful night I met you, so unsure of what I should do, tried to keep each step so tried and true
By the by did I mention that we had felt a connection that was unlike anything we'd ever known
Later you declared your love, I looked up to that sky above, and I knew that it was much too good to be
I'm tired of being made a fool, you see

Well, we weren't together for very long before your world turned upside down and a gray daze came to take control of me
But I had made a grave mistake, my head did race, my hands did shake, and I lost you just the way I knew I would
Well, now I see you time to time, you know I always end up crying, things just aren't the same for me and you
As when you'd call five times a day, and all them lovely things you'd say, and when I'd see the way you'd look at me
But I'm tired of being made a fool, you see

Well, the first time that you phoned me, I was so surprised you noticed that that sparkle in my eye was all for you
And on that fateful night I met you, so unsure of what I should do, tried to keep each step so tried and true
Well, by the by did I mention that we had felt a connection that was unlike anything we'd ever known
Later you declared your love, I looked up to that sky above, and I knew that it was much too good to be
And I'm tired of being made a fool, you see
